Login tips- Case should not matter for either login or
password. If you forget your user id or password, just email us (from the email
address you registered under) and we’ll look it up.
When you are
selecting your picks, make sure it updates one entry before clicking on the next
one to access. Sometimes people have clicked to the next entry before it saved
the previous one. If you’re not sure, go back in and verify. You have until we
lock down the week to change your picks.
Proxy list. We
will display names in the proxy list rather than user id’s. there are so many
user id’s that are cryptic or similar to one another that we wanted to make
sure you know who you are allowing to be your proxy.
Any other
questions just ask..

2007/08/28 – System is Live
Here’s
a brief overview of how the pool works:
Each
person will have a login ID and password.
Each
person will be allowed any number of entries, all of which they will be able to
access under their single login. Each entry must be given a unique name. It can
be something like “Joe” or “Joe 1” or “Bengals Rock” or “my winning pick” or
really about anything, so long as no one else has chosen that name for one of their
picks. When you first register, all of your entries are given a default name of
your userID(1), userID(2), etc. You may change them by visiting the My Info
link after loggin in. Once the season starts, the names are locked down and may
not be changed.
A
person will be able to put picks in for someone else. There are two different
methods to do this.
One is
by the “proxy” system. A person will be able to designate another person as
their proxy for entering their picks. What this means is that you can have a
backup person that you trust to put your picks in for you, in the event that
you are unable to do it yourself for any reason. You don’t need to give anyone
your login information- your entries will just show up along with theirs when
they go to make their picks. You may designate any number of people to be
proxies, and you may revoke the ability whenever you want. Two people could
designate each other to be their proxy. Then either one could enter any or all
of the picks in a given week. Designating someone to have proxy power for your
entries has no effect on your ability to enter your own picks- it simply
provides for someone else to be able to do it as well.
The
other method is by simply designating someone else’s entries as your own. You
might do this if you’re recruiting someone who has no internet access. They
would have to tell you their picks each week and you would be responsible for
entering them. If they are set up as your entries under your user ID, then they
will stay that way thru the entire season- you can’t split off entries to a
different user ID once we’ve set them up for you.
Here’s an example of how all this will work:
Fred Flintstone wants 3 entries. His wife Wilma wants 2 entries.
His friend Barney wants two entries.
Fred, who loves to use computers, will have a login ID/password.
Wilma is somewhat computer literate and wants the ability to
enter her own picks. She will have a login ID/password.
Due to a freak accident as a child, Barney is afraid of
computers. He will not have a login ID and will not be able to access or view
any of the pool information online. He will depend entirely upon Fred for all
information regarding the pool.
Fred will have 5 entries under his user ID. He wants to call
them “Flintstone”, “Bedrock”, “Dino”, “Barney”, and “Betty”. “Barney” and
“Betty” are actually Barney’s entries, but as far as we are concerned, for the
KOTH pool purposes, they are considered Fred’s entries.
Wilma will name her two entries “Pebbles 1” and “Pebbles 2”
Fred designates Wilma as his proxy, and Wilma designates Fred as
her proxy. They will each then have the ability to select picks for all 7
entries. If one person makes a selection, the other person can still change it.
Whatever pick the entry has when we lock down the week is what will stick. We
will track who made the last change to an entry and when.
Barney will have to trust Fred to print a picksheet for him each
week as he will not have any access. Also, since Barney is not a user in the
KOTH system, Fred will be responsible for paying for Barney’s entries, and if
one of those entries wins, Fred will be the one we pay.
