King of the Hill Rules:

This is a “survivor” pool. Each week you pick one NFL team to
win. You may select any team playing that week, regardless of who you might
have picked in previous weeks. Only games which appear in the Entry Pick screen
are available to select- This year, the first game of week 1 is on a Thursday,
and that game is not available to choose. All games of all other weeks are
available, including Thursdays.

To remain alive you must pick a winning team (ties are NOT a
win). If you pick a team that ties or loses, you are eliminated from the pool.

The last entry standing wins the pool. In the case of a tie, the
prize will be split. The pool can run all the way thru the playoffs and
Superbowl, if necessary. The winner(s) will be paid two weeks after the pool
ends.

Submit picks using our online entry system. If for some reason
you are unable to use the online system we will accept picks via email or
phone, provided they are received before we lock down.

All picks must be in by the deadline, which is usually 5pm
Eastern on Saturdays, unless there is a game earlier. Several weeks have Thursday
games this year, so the deadline will be before those games start. The
deadlines for each week are listed on the home page. During the playoffs, the
deadline is 5pm Eastern on Fridays.

Sometime after the deadline we will lock down the pool. If
your picks are not in when we lock them down, you will automatically get the
visitor in the last game of the week (usually on Monday night.) During the playoffs, we will use the visitor
in the game with the latest start time as the default pick.

When the deadline passes, you will still be able to get your
picks in until we lock down the pool. Sometimes we don’t get a chance to log in
and lock down the pool until late Saturday or even early Sunday morning. If the
deadline has passed, and you can still access your picks for the week, that
means they have not yet been locked down and you can still get them in (lucky
you). But once they are locked down we do not make adjustments for any reason.
We have had many people request a late adjustment from the default to some
other team. However, we feel that in order to maintain the integrity of the
pool, once we make the picks public, that the players in the pool should be
able to depend on those as being final, and not discover picks have changed
during the course of the day.

Once the picks are locked down, you will be able to see
everyone’s picks for that week. Click the “Show This Week’s Picks” link to see
who everyone picked.

Game Cancellations/Postponements- if the NFL cancels or
postpones a game (to a different week) within 36 hours of the deadline, we will
handle as follows: Anyone who has selected the game prior to the cancellation
announcement will receive a ‘bye’ that week for that entry. However, they must
choose TWO winners the following week for that entry in order to survive. In
order to be qualified for the 'bye', you must have selected the game prior to
its announcement of being postponed. When you enter a pick, it timestamps who
made the pick and the time it was made. Anyone who chooses a canceled game
AFTER it has been publicly announced as canceled will receive the MNF visitor
default. So, you should also be aware that if you change your pick, it will
only record the last time it was saved. Anyone who picks a game which is
postponed more than 36 hours before the deadline, and does not change it, will
receive the MNF visitor default.
Signing up to play:
Each
entry costs $10 and you can buy as many entries as you want. To join the KOTH
pool, click the login link above. On the login page, click “New User”. You will
then be prompted to enter the following info:

send us an email letting us know you have signed up, how many entries you want,
and how you will be paying:
Once
we have received your entry fees, we will activate your userID. You may then
logon and make your picks.
Prior
to the week 1 lockdown, you may also change your Entry Names. The default name
for your entries is your UserID plus a number; eg, your user ID is Barney, your
entry names will be Barney1, Barney2, etc.
