Bill & Karen’s Home Poker Tourneys |
Poker League Zathras The 2006 season begins March 4th. We are making a number
of (mostly) small changes to how things work. The event schedule: There will be 10 events this year. We will attempt to announce
each date at least a month in advance. All players who play in at least four
events will earn a seat at the finals. Each player will begin the final event
with a chip stack equal to total of his best 8 event scores. Players earn points in the regular tourneys throughout the
season based on finish position, $$ won, and a few bonus categories. $2 per
buy-in and re-buy, as well as any late entry penalty fees, will go into the
championship prize pool. The championship prize pool will be paid out to the
top 9 finishers per the following schedule.
Points are awarded as follows: Where X is the number of players in the event, the first place
finisher wins X*2 points. Each player in succession wins two points less,
down to the last place finisher, who wins two points. Additional points are awarded to the money winners at a rate of 1
point per $10 won, rounded up. One bonus point is awarded for each Bounty chip you have at the
end. If you still have your re-buy chip, you get a bonus point for that as
well. In addition, each event’s winner will become the “Primary Target” for
the next event, with a bonus point going to the player who knocks them out. For
the first event, there will be two Primary Targets- Matt D and Charlie L, who
finished 1st and 2nd in the previous season’s
championship game. Other special bonuses may be announced from time to time, which
will be consistent in nature with the point structure. We will use the "The Tournament Director" software to
track the player positions. It is the responsibility of each player to verify
that their position has been recorded correctly at the end of each
tournament. Tournament guidelines: The events are $15 buy-in, of which $2 goes towards the
championship prize pool, $1 goes to the High Hand bonus pot, and the
remaining $12 goes into the tourney prize pool. One re-buy is available, any
time until the end of the break. The re-buy is $15 and is allocated the same
way as the buy-in’s. The tourney prize pool is paid out using the following schedule.
